Exhibition - “Au-delà des Apparences: art moderne et contemporain d’Afrique”, Collection CBH at Musée d’art et d’histoire de Genève-Musée Rath

To celebrate its 50th anniversary, private bank CBH Compagnie Bancaire Helvétique, in partnership with the Musée d'art et d'histoire de Genève, is presenting its collection of modern and contemporary African art at the Musée Rath.

The fruit of an ongoing commitment to artistic creation, the "Beyond appearences" exhibition brings together nearly 80 artists from sub-Saharan Africa who lived part of their lives there, covering almost a century of production (1929-2024). Paintings, sculptures, photographs: the works reveal an expressive force, blending traditions, modern aesthetics and contemporary issues.

Works by El Hadji Sy, Arébénor Basséne and Alioune Diouf are exhibited on this occasion at Musée Rath en Geneva.
