15e Rencontres de Bamako - Official Selection

We are pleased to announce the official selection of artists Mélinda Fourn and Naomi Lulendo for the 15th edition of Bamako’s African Photography Biennale curated by Armelle Dakouo, titled “Refabulation(s)”, it will take place in Bamako from November 26, 2026 to January 26, 2027.

With “Refabulation(s)”, Armelle Dakouo invites artists to reinvent dominant narratives, to rethink them, and to produce new narrative possibilities through images. The curatorial approach draws in particular on the thought of the Nigerian writer Chinua Achebe and on the notion of refabulation as a response to cultural dispossession, alienation, and assimilation.
