Exhibition - Not All Travellers Walk Roads – Of Humanity as Practice, Museo de Arte do Rio, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Hamedine Kane’s work “The Resources 2 - The Belly of the Atlantic”, created for the 36th São Paulo Biennale (2025) are now part of the travelling exhibition, on view at Museo de Arte do Rio, in Rio de Janeiro, from March 7th until May 3rd, 2026.

Hamedine Kane's works are the result of long periods of field research, both in archives and through encounters with theorists, writers, historians and local populations far removed from institutionalised circles. Using archives as raw material, Kane conceives of the exhibition as a place for the reproduction of knowledge, stories and sensitive spaces. He is interested in spaces where knowledge circulates, historical events of the 20th century such as pan-African congresses and conferences, but also contemporary attempts to bring people together.

Following a residency in Bahia and São Paulo as part of the 36th São Paulo Biennial, the work The Resources - The Belly of the Atlantic is an installation bringing together three spaces: the African continent, South America and the Atlantic.
