Research residency - Fredj Moussa, “Tell me about your dream mosque”

Selebe Yoon is pleased to present Fredj Moussa's end of residency project entitled “Tell me about your dream mosque”, on 22 May 2025 at 7pm, the result of six weeks' research in Senegal, through a series of paintings, drawings, sculptures and a video installation.

Fredj Moussa's research is rooted in a story, that of Mohamed Gorgui Seyni Gueye, known as Sangabi, and the dream in which the Mosque of Divinity on Ouakam Bay was revealed to him in March 1973. As dream architecture, the Mosque of Divinity becomes a space of possibilities - a dream space, a collective fable where the sacred and the speculative mingle for the artist. Through a body of work, Moussa explores the way in which a place transcends its material existence to become a space of convergence between beliefs, individual memories and shared histories.

On May 22nd, 2025 at t 7:30pm a conversation will take place between Fredj Moussa and Alibeta, moderated by Jennifer Houdrouge.

This residency is an exchange project with Nessij and La Boîte, Tunis.
